GOLA KONNEH – A man has died in a logging accident in Grand Cape Mount County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Joseph Galakpai died on Saturday after a tree he was harvesting fell on him and killed him instantly in the Gola Konneh Community Forest operated by Akewa Group of Companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI sent my town chief and everybody went there and buried the man,\u201d said Momo Thomas, paramount chief of the Gola Konneh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The late Galakpai had reportedly joined the Nigerian logging firm just two days before the unfortunate incident.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Logging is a dangerous occupation, involving huge trees and the use of equipment such as chainsaws.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
